Some people know HDTV (High Definition Television) by the common television name, Plasma TV. The picture quality of HD is superb, crisp and seems like real life, while SDTV (Standard Definition Television) looses a lot of detail.
If you're familiar with digital photography, here are the specs for HDTV. HDTV’s frame size is equivalent to 1920x1080. An HD frame can produce exceptional 8x10 photographs. While not a substitute for fine photography, our video cameras will produce 400,000+ 1920x1080 images for a typical event.
In contrast, SDTV (Standard Definition Television) is the current standard TV resolution that has been broadcast since 1963. SDTV’s frame size is equivalent to a still picture at a resolution of 720x480. An SD frame can produce a good 4x6 photograph. |
